Now an annual fixture for both the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy and the BTRDA Clubmans Rallycross Championship, the Lydden Hill 2WD Superprix plays host to the best of the two-wheel-drive rallycross racers in the UK this weekend (July 25).

Four-time British Rallycross Champion Pat Doran (Ford Escort) leads the standings in the Super Retro Rallycross Championship thanks to three successive victories, while Retro Rallycross class graduate Dan Swayland (Ford Escort) has shone in his first Super Retro campaign and is second in the points, ahead of Lydden Hill local Stuart Emery and his popular Volvo 242 as part of a 14-strong line-up.

An eclectic range of cars fill all of the grids this weekend, with new and returning drivers, but it’s a household rallycross name who joins the line-up in the Motorsport UK Cross Car Championship, with X Games Gold Medallist and European Championship event-winner Liam Doran making his Cross Car debut aboard a LifeLive TN11. Bradley Turner (LifeLive TN11) leads the standings as he has since the opening round of the campaign, but two wins on the bounce has lifted former Swift Sport title-winner Will Ovenden (Mygale XC01) into contention, while its reigning champion Stephen Jones who tops the RX150 order.

William Hands leads the way in the Motorsport UK Junior Rallycross Championship for single-make 1300cc Suzuki Swift machines, while Ethan Miles currently lies second in the points. Returning this weekend, Phoebe Cake switches back from the Cross Car Junior series to race a Swift in the class in which she began her career, at her home circuit.

It is Ethan Hooker (LifeLive TN5) who heads the Motorsport UK Cross Car Junior Championship standings, while Jaxon Blewett (LifeLive TN11) returns for more having won on his debut at Blyton Park recently and George Edenborough moves the other way to Cake, moving from Junior Swifts to Junior Cross Car with the car campaigned by Cake so far this season.

South East circuit racer Rick May will make his debut in the Retro Rallycross Championship for up to 1600cc machines with a Toyota Starlett, while former champion Tony Lynch returns with his Toyota MR2, and Jon Wood (Ford Escort) leads the championship fight with an unbeaten run of wins in the class so far in 2026.

In the single-make Swift Sport Rallycross Championship Danny Bean makes his maiden appearance in the category, following in the footsteps of former title-contender and father Jonny Bean, and Junior title-winning brother Charlie Bean. The latest Bean to join the line up embarks on rallycross with a wealth of karting experience. Philip Seath leads the Swift standings heading into round five but is yet to win an event this year, while Ollie Hooper and Scott Parker also join the fold.
