British RX announces 2017 television coverage

18th March 2017

The Toyo Tires MSA British Rallycross Championship has announced that it will be broadcast on television in 2017, with programmes scheduled on Motorsport.TV and BT Sport for the second year running.

A highlights show after each of the nine rounds will be broadcast both on television and online. Alongside the full highlights show on YouTube, the online platform will also host individual edits of the supporting Championships within the British RX package.

British RX programmes will be produced by production company Digitex, while David Addison will continue in his role as lead commentator. “Rallycross is growing around the world at the moment, there’s a great buzz around the sport and we’re very excited to be involved with the Toyo Tires MSA British Rallycross Championship, especially in a year when the sport is celebrating its 50th anniversary,” said Digitex’s Barry Welch. “The British RX package has a lot of exciting racing, which we’re looking forward to covering on the various channels and platforms.”

The Toyo Tires MSA British Rallycross Championship begins this weekend at Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire, with following events at Lydden Hill in Kent, Pembrey in South Wales and Mondello Park in Ireland. “We’re delighted that British RX will be broadcast on television and online this year,” said Championship Manager, Tim Whittington. “It’s important for the sport as a whole that we have a mix of traditional broadcasters and online outlets. On-demand coverage online is a growing medium and we have to embrace that to attract a young audience while maintaining a presence on quality traditional broadcasters.”
