Hill returns to 5 Nations BRX with unique Mitsubishi Evo X Supercar

27th March 2026

Experienced campaigner Steve Hill will return to the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy in 2026, starting with the opening double-header of the season at Lydden Hill on Easter Bank Holiday Weekend (April 5-6).

Having claimed a superb third overall in the top-level Supercar division in 2024, following a nail-biting conclusion to the campaign where Hill and Citroen DS3 driver Tristan Ovenden battled until the very last corner of the last race of the year to decide the last spot on the overall rostrum, four-time British Rallycross event-winner Hill sat out the 2025 campaign, instead focusing on rallying and rally sprints.

Equipped with his totally-unique Mitsubishi Evo X Supercar, Hill will contest the opening weekend of the campaign at Lydden Hill before assessing his plans for the rest of the season. In his absence from the 5 Nations BRX grid last year, the Thame-based driver continued rallying his Group N+ Mitsubishi Evo 6 in circuit rally events and recently drove a Hyundai i20 R5 at Snetterton. He has also been a leading overall contender in the new Lydden Hill rally sprints.

As the British Rallycross Championship celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026, the headline 5 Nations BRX category runs over nine rounds with events at Lydden Hill, Mondello Park (Ireland), Loheac (France) and Pembrey Circuit (Wales), the campaign concluding with the annual fireworks weekend back at Lydden Hill.

Steve Hill:

“I’m excited to return and I’m looking forward to some good racing. There is nothing quite like driving a rallycross Supercar, that’s for sure. It’s a shame not to be joined by my friends Ollie and Patrick (O’Donovan) on the grid but I am sure there will be some stiff opposition and some news cars and drivers. I have enjoyed doing more rallying and the rally sprints in the last year, but I’ve really missed the close racing. Hopefully if funds and the calendar allow I will do more events through the year, providing I can be on or near the pace.”
