Lomax targets a victory at Lydden Hill this weekend

Lomax targets a victory at Lydden Hill this weekend

19th August 2014

This weekend sees Leeds based Craig Lomax head to Lydden Hill in Kent for the fifth round of the 2014 MSA British Rallycross Championship in association with the Shannon Group determined to make up for an unexpected result at the last round at Pembrey.

Holding a twenty three point lead Lomax could secure the Champioship this weekend if results go his way in the Baxi Avanti Xtreme Citroen Saxo. There is a strong field of seven entrants at what is the spiritual home of Rallycross, Lydden Hill. Trying to stop him will be his closet championship challenger Tomasz Marciniak, as well as returning 2012 Champion Andrew Twomey, who will be looking to continue the Anglo Irish battles that have made Hot Hatch legendary over the years.

Lomax said earlier this week “I can’t wait to race at Lydden, I was looking forward it last time here, and it was such a shame the way it worked out but hopefully this weekend we can have great a battle between all of us.”

Reflecting on his outing at Pembrey he added “After the mid-season rebuild, we didn’t get chance to run the new gearbox in, and the worst thing happened, unfortunately these things occur in motor racing, and that’s our bad luck over with for the year. We could secure the championship there, and relax and have fun at Croft later in the year”
