Cake makes RallyX Supercar Lites debut as part of 2025 Swift Sport prize

15th May 2026

Reigning Swift Sport Champion Matt Cake will graduate to the international stage this weekend by making his debut in the RallyX series at Tierp in Sweden, as part of his prize of winning the title Swift Sport Rallycross Championship title within the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy last year.

Cake’s prize for his 2025 Swift Sport Rallycross title was originally set to be a test opportunity. But after a season in which he demonstrated raw talent and pace, winning every round of the championship on his way to the title, that plan has been upgraded in the best possible way. Instead of a test, Cake has been given the chance to line up and compete at one of the most prestigious events on the RallyX calendar, in the Supercar Lites division.

It’s a rare opportunity and a genuine reflection of the talent Cake showed throughout 2025, made possible thanks to Andreas Eriksson and the team at OlsbergsMSE, who have recognised Cake’s potential and opened the door for him to prove himself on an international stage. RallyX is one of rallycross’s most exciting and driver-focused series, and Tierp Arena hosts one of its standout events in the Rallyxtreme weekend, a high-energy event that attracts top-level competition and gives drivers the perfect stage to showcase what they can do.

The Supercar Lites category meanwhile has a well-earned reputation as one of the sport’s best development platforms.

Sarah Watson, Swift Sport Championship Co-Ordinator:

“This is exactly the kind of opportunity the Swift Rallycross series is designed to create. The championships give talented drivers a professional environment, real support, and the platform to get noticed beyond the paddock. When drivers perform, opportunities follow, and Matt’s journey from Swift Sport champion to Supercar Lites competitor is a perfect example of that in action.

The Swift Family will be watching and cheering Matt on throughout the weekend. A big thank you to Andreas Eriksson and the OlsbergsMSE team for making this possible and for their continued commitment to developing the next generation of rallycross talent. Good luck, Matt — go and enjoy it.”

Expanding the prize-drive concept for 2026, OlsbergsMSE is offering a test opportunity to the stand-out driver in both the Swift Sport and Motorsport UK Junior Rallycross Championships this year. More info here.
