Gamble is bound for Pembrey this weekend

Gamble is bound for Pembrey this weekend

6th May 2015

Wolverhampton based rally driver Mark Gamble will embark upon his first event of the 2015 season on Sunday 10th of May, and it’s a brand new venture for him.

He will be tackling the third round of the 2015 MSA British Rallycross Championship in association with the Shannon Group at Pembrey this weekend. After a string of frustrating teething issues with his newly built Suzuki Swift rally car, Mark fancied trying his hand at Rallycross.

The Kumho Tyres backed driver will be using a Suzuki Swift Super 1600 during his rallycross debut, the car having previously been driven to a fantastic win by Mike Jones in the second round of the championship. Gamble also heads to Pembrey aiming for no less than winning the S1600 category.

Mark is raring to get back out competing, as he hasn’t completed a full championship, since he won the Suzuki Swift Sport Cup in 2008. He is keen to impress his new sponsors Cusco, Part Box & Pro Fence as well as continued long term supporters; Kumho Tyres.

The new rally car will be making it’s long awaited debut at the Plains Rally based at Welshpool on the 16th of May using a standard engine rather than the Super 1400cc unit he had planned to use, but he hopes it will be ready to bolt in

for the following round of the Kick Start 1400 Rally Championship.

There may well be more Rallycross outings for Gamble this year in between his rallying committments. However, the S1600 Swift is available for hire for the remainder of the British Rallycross Championship.
