Lomax and Xtreme RX lead heading to Knockhill

Lomax and Xtreme RX lead heading to Knockhill

4th May 2014

Baxi Avanti Xtreme RX and Craig Lomax head to next weekends third round of the 2014 MSA British Rallycross Championship in association with the Shannon Group full of confidence after victories in the opening two rounds of this years title chase.

Lomax told British Rallycross “We never expected to have such a strong lead in the championship so early, and now we are keen to stretch that lead even further, I really enjoy the Knockhill track, and previous results have been good to me there, so we are heading North in a positive mood.”

For Lomax and the Baxi Avanti Xtreme RX team, it has been a race against time to have the Saxo ready, after a first heat accident in Holland caused more damae than was originally thought, with Lomax adding “It’s been a busy year for damage, we’ve already repaired the Baxi Avanti Xtreme RX Saxo more than we did in the whole of 2013, but with the support and help of our sponsors we’ve managed to get the work done in plenty of time”

All circuits are different, and Knockhill is no exception, with its long straight and run downhill to the first real corner, and the Baxi Avanti Xtreme RX feel this will test Craig and the car to the limit. Milltek, the teams engine supplier, have worked hard to produce a unit that will cope with the demands of the Scottish track, and the teams aim is to continue to build on the good results this year so far.

Lomax added “It would be nice to leave Knockhill with a nice lead in the championship, but the other guys in the class will push all the way, and we are really looking forward to a continued battle with them.

The 2014 MSA British Rallycross Championship in association with the Shannon Group can be seen at Knockhill Race Circuit, on May 11th
