RX150's ready to battle at Pembrey

RX150's ready to battle at Pembrey

9th May 2015

Pembrey in South Wales hosts the third round of the MSA British Rallycross Championship in association with the Shannon Group this weekend, where the RX Racing RX150 category will once again provide frantic action.

Former circuit racing star Chrissy Palmer heads the bill heading into round three, the driver of the number 99 buggy lies just a handful of points ahead of the chasing pack.

Double RX150 champion Marc Scott won last time out at Lydden Hill, after suffering gearbox problems at round one of the championship at Croft, and will be hoping to challenge Palmer at the top of the points table this weekend.

Winning a second event in succession won’t be a straight forward affair for the Dumfries driver however, stiff competition will come not only in the shape of Palmer, but also Croft victor and multiple rallycross champion Dave Bellerby, who returns to the Jelf Insurance buggy in which he won the final in at round one.

Pembrey is widely regarded as one of the fastest and yet most technical rallycross circuits in the country, where the RX150 buggies annually provide close racing,. They will be even faster this year, thanks to the more powerful engine and better aerodynamics the buggies were treated to in the off-season.

Adam and Larry Sargent will again battle it out, not only against the field of RX150 drivers, but also to come out on top in their own family rivalry, while Richard Moore and Stephen Jones aim to build on a solid start to the year.

Mitchell Flaherty made his RX150 debut at Lydden Hill and will be hoping to build on his experience in a bid to challenge for the podium this weekend, while Brett Harris will also have his sights set on a top three position.

Action at Pembrey gets underway at 0900 on Sunday 10th May, while those unable to attend the event can watch the action unfold on livestream.
