RX150's set to thrill at Lydden Hill Rallycross

RX150's set to thrill at Lydden Hill Rallycross

2nd April 2015

The RX Racing RX150 category heads to Lydden Hill this weekend for the second round of the MSA British Rallycross Championship in association with the Shannon Group, where a number of new star drivers will compete as part of the 13 strong line up.

Scottish rally regular Murray Coulthard – nephew of former F1 star David - will swap his Vauxhall Nova for an RX150 buggy and line up for the Albatec Racing team, alongside double champion Marc Scott. Having been totally dominant in 2014, the Albatec regular didn’t have a great event at round one, Croft last month, gearbox issues keeping him away from the front of the pack. The Dumfries driver will be hoping for better this weekend.

2014 BTCC Rookie of the Year, Tom Ingram, will race the Jelf Insurance backed machine for his rallycross debut, just one day after the first round of the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch. Former Formula Ford Festival winner Chrissy Palmer also taking to the Lydden Hill circuit will be hoping to repeat his form from the final round of the 2014 RX150 season at Croft last October, where he was right on the pace.

Round one winner, Dave Bellerby returns to the RX150s for another shot at victory, and knows the Lydden Hill circuit as well as any of his rivals. The Yorkshireman will be aiming to increase his points lead, but will face competition from the newcomers and regulars alike. Regular podium finisher Kevin Feeney will be in action, as will Mitchell Flaherty who made his rallycross debut in a Suzuki Swift last season and is son of Supercar comeback man Mark Flaherty. He makes his RX150 debut at Lydden Hill.
