Getting started in 5 Nations BRX
While it is the aspiration of most to race a rallycross Supercar at the highest level of the sport, there are accessible ways to get involved as a competitor within the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy, with avenues for future stars, more experienced drivers and everyone in between.
Here’s how:
Swift Sport Rallycross Championship and Motorsport UK Junior Rallycross Championship
The Swift Sport Championship provides the close competition and controlled technical rules that you would expect from a one-make series that provides super-competitive and affordable racing. The 1.6-litre cars used in the adult series have limited modifications while the Motorsport UK Junior Rallycross Championship uses 1.3-litre versions of the Swift and is open to drivers between 14 and 16-years of age, representing an economic way for Junior racers to compete at national championship level. Competitors can build cars themselves, buy existing cars or rent on an arrive-and-drive basis.
The Swift series runs taster days at Lydden Hill Race Circuit as an opportunity to sample the cars on the world’s most famous rallycross track.
