Bellerby Mini switch for remainder of 2021
2019 BMW Mini RX Champion Drew Bellerby has announced that she is withdrawing from her rallycross driving commitments for 2021 to fully-focus on her new-born daughter. The Fuchs-sponsored Mini will return to the capable hands of Drew’s father Dave, winner of rounds one and two at Lydden Hill.
The next appearance for the car will be at the next double-header round of the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy Presented by Cooper Tires when it heads North to Knockhill in Scotland. The former Supernational and Swift Sport Rallycross Champion will do his best to improve on his current standing of fifth in the BMW Mini Rallycross Championship.
Drew’s sister Paige will also be competing in the Motorsport UK Supernational class in her Lotus Exige, where double victory last time has moved her to within 27 points of the championship lead.
Drew Bellerby:
“Balancing motorsport and being a mum is quite tough and the Pembrey weekend made me realise that I want to prioritise Beau – I only have one opportunity to be her mother while she’s so young and needs me.
Once she is less reliant on me, my rallycross side can return to the fore. Until then myself and Beau will be part of the Bellerby Motorsport support team and continue to cheer on Dad and Paige.”
