'As live' broadcast package for 5 Nations BRX at Lydden Hill

26th November 2020
  • Under ‘Elite’ status rounds 2 & 3 will go ahead
  • Covid restrictions prevent fan attendance in Kent
  • Fans can enjoy ‘as live’ rallycross action from all Finals both days

Details have been confirmed about plans to show ‘as live’ the second and third rounds of the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy presented by Cooper Tires from Lydden Hill on 5/6 December. As the nation gears up for the new government guidelines on 2 December, Kent has been classified as Tier 3, preventing spectators from attending.

Championship production partner Project4 Broadcast (P4) will bring high-quality rallycross action, highlights and insider content across the two days. To underline their commitment additional cameras and drone usage will allow further footage to be included.

The #5NationsBRXLive coverage will provide exclusive behind-the-scenes access from all classes, including the headlining 600bhp Supercars in which 23-time Isle of Man TT winner John McGuinness will make his Supercar debut. The event will benefit from the same highlights and clips coverage provided from the season-opening round, however, the final of each class will be uploaded to 5 Nations BRX social media channels and YouTube as quickly as physically possible.

Based at Pinewood Studios, P4 provides technical services to the broadcast and event industry and has a wealth of experience in professional television and radio broadcasting.

Hannah Rynston, Co-ordinator of 5 Nations BRX and General Manager of Lydden Hill said: “We know the interest in British Rallycross is huge and we were lucky enough to have spectators allowed at the opening round at Lydden. We couldn’t possibly consider holding our second and third rounds without spectators and not do our best to get as much action as possible to rallycross fans around the world as the country’s top drivers battle it out at Lydden Hill. We must thank our broadcast partner Project 4 for helping us adapt quickly to all the date and format changes. We really appreciate their support.”
