Bennett and Mini Supercar set for Lydden Hill Easter Monday 5 Nations BRX outing
British driver Oliver Bennett will return to the venue of his maiden outright rallycross victory for round two of the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy this weekend at Lydden Hill.
Bennett drove his Xite Energy Racing Mini RX Supercar to a pair of wins during the opening rounds of the 2022 5 Nations BRX campaign, before focusing on his Nitro Rallycross Championship programme in Europe and America.
This weekend, the flamboyant Bristol-based driver and his popular Mini RX Supercar will return for the traditional Bank Holiday Monday event, where he will take on a bumper entry of Supercars, including three former champions and six previous event-winners.
“I’m excited to be back, I had a good result at Lydden in 5 Nations BRX this time last year and it’s a good bit of fun downtime between our Nitro Rallycross seasons,” said Bennett. “It will be nice to be back in the Mini again because it’s a while since I’ve driven it – it keeps my foot in the game and we’re hoping for a nice weekend. The weather looks like it will be good so hopefully it will be good for the spectators too. Unfortunately, I have clashing commitments on Saturday but we’ll be making sure to put on a show on Monday!”
The full entry list for the Lydden Hill event will be released this evening on the 5 Nations BRX social media channels.
