Coley to make Rallycross Grand Prix return with XtremeRX

13th October 2017

World Rallycross Championship television commentator Andrew Coley will make his second rallycross start of the 2017 season at the Procters Coaches MSA British Rallycross Grand Prix, driving Craig Lomax’s Citroen C2 Super1600 car.

Coley raced an RX150 buggy in round seven of British RX at Pembrey last month but will return to the XtemeRX-run C2 that he raced in the Grand Prix two years ago next week at Croft Circuit.

“I'm really looking forward to another run in XtemeRX's Super1600 and very grateful for the opportunity. Having the driven the car briefly two years ago at Croft I at least know the circuit, and my rally background was front wheel drive based so that helps too,” said Coley. “I'd like to think it's easier second time around, but I made mistakes in the buggy recently so I still have a lot to learn. But that's the beauty of it; commentating is all very well, but it's a totally different story under pressure in the car. I don't have any aims other than to enjoy myself.”

On Saturday at Croft Circuit, former Super1600 Champion Lomax will conclude his 2017 season before handing control of the C2 over to Coley. “It's an absolute pleasure to invite Andrew back to drive Sabrina,” said Lomax. “She didn't treat him too well in 2015, maybe he was just a bit too rough with her, but we are doing everything to make sure he has a full set of qualifying races and gets out the car smiling each time he finishes a race.”
