Toyo Tires secures three-year MSA British Rallycross Championship title sponsorship

27th February 2017

The MSA British Rallycross Championship has announced that title sponsorship will be held by Toyo Tires over the next three years.

The Championship celebrated its 40th birthday in 2016 with consistently strong entries, a competitive series of events and its youngest ever champion. Together with Toyo Tires, the British RX Championship and its competitors can expect to build on a strong season last year into 2017 and beyond.

“Toyo Tires are extremely pleased to become the title sponsor of the 2017 MSA British Rallycross Championship,” said Kenta Kuribayashi, Toyo Tire Europe GmbH President. “Toyo Tires will be supporting the growth of this dramatic motorsport format for the next three years having signed a contract until the end of 2019. The excitement and accessibility of the sport make rallycross the perfect partner for Toyo Tires.”

In 2017, as the sport marks the 50th anniversary of its first event, the MSA British Rallycross Championship will be staged over nine events taking place on seven weekends between March and October.

“I’m delighted to welcome Toyo Tires to the MSA British Rallycross Championship,” said Championship Manager Tim Whittington. “It’s enthusiasm for rallycross is great to see and I look forward to working closely together over the next three years. The Championship was stronger than it had been for some time in 2016 and we’re hopeful of continuing an upward trend this season. We’re all looking forward to the opening round of the Championship at Croft Circuit next month.”

Competitor information

Toyo Tires and the British Championship will introduce a bonus prize scheme with cash awards for drivers winning an event using Toyo Tires. There are no changes to the tyre regulations for the championship.
