    Record number of Supercar Entries set for World RX at Lydden Hill

    The UK’s first ever round of the exciting new FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy has attracted a record entry with no fewer than 37 top class Supercars entered into the AUTOSPORT World RX of Great Britain (24-25 May). It will be the biggest line-up of flame-spitting Supercars ever seen at Lydden Hill.

    For the first time ever the action-packed two-day meeting sees those contesting both the FIA World and European Rallycross Championships competing together for the honour of outright victory. The opening round of the 2014 World RX was staged in front of a sell-out crowd in Portugal earlier this month and the 2014 Euro RX blasts off at Lydden.

    Solberg wins World RX season opener in Portugal

    Norway’s Petter Solberg has won the opening round of the inaugural FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy after winning today’s World RX of Portugal final at the wheel of his PSRX Citroen DS3 Supercar. It was a double podium for Ford Olsbergs MSE in the Team Championship with team-mates Andreas Bakkerud and Reinis Nitiss finishing second and third respectively.

    Lydden Hill is revving up for its inaugural hosting of an FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy event next month (24-25 May) and today held a special appetiser for TV, radio and print media.

    An impressive number of media descended on the Kent circuit to preview the AUTOSPORT Rallycross of Great Britain, and a host of rallycross personalities were also in attendance in anticipation of what will be round two of the newly formed World Championship.
