Sellar returns to 5 Nations BRX with Ovenden Motorsport DS3
Mike Sellar will return to the headline category in the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy for the season-finale double-header at Lydden Hill [November 7-8].
Having made his Supercar bow in a Hansen Motorsport-built Citroen DS3 in 2020, a car he campaigned across four seasons, Sellar will make his return in the similar machine owned by Ovenden Motorsport.
Sellar sold his own DS3 and replaced it with a Volkswagen Polo Supercar in 2024, that was subsequently sold to Tristan Ovenden. Experienced circuit racer and rallycross driver Sellar had then planned to compete in the French round of 5 Nations BRX at Loheac with the DS3 this year, but will now make his return at Lydden Hill’s fireworks weekend.
Where the Ovenden DS3 differs to that previously raced by Sellar is that the Ovenden car, built by Autopoint Engineering for Pat Doran in 2012, uses a longitudinally-mounted engine configuration, similar to that of the Polo in which Sellar set great pace at events in 2024 and 2025.
Sellar will join a number of different contenders for the Lydden Hill event, while regulars Derek Tohill (Peugeot 208), Julian Godfrey (Citroen DS3), John McCluskey (Honda Civic) and Tristan Ovenden (Volkswagen Polo) are set to battle for positions in the overall championship top three at the annual season-finale.
